Trend Setting Technology from Saxony: Intelligent Chips for Transparent Wireless High Speed Communication

German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder attends Systemonic's CeBIT Presentation to learn about Wireless High Speed Transmission of Data, Video and Voice

Dresden, Germany (March 27, 2002) - Technology developed in Saxony can be the reason that - in a few months - the market for wireless networks starts to move faster, because the problems of the multiple existing standards becomes negligible. At CeBIT 2002 the German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder visited Systemonic's booth where he was informed about a breakthrough solution. Ruediger Stroh, President and CEO of Systemonic, explained the advantages of the new technology enabling wireless transmission of data video and voice, independently of standard and frequency band available.

Systemonic, founded in 1999 in Dresden, today employs approximately 100 employees worldwide. In spring 2001 Systemonic opened its US Headquarter in San Jose (California). Through the acquisition of the RF networking business from Raytheon Commercial Electronics in October 2001 Systemonic has a further office in Marlborough (Massachusetts). This international presence shows that Systemonic has already aligned with the markets for wireless communications solutions at an early stage.

Systemonic is en route to becoming a leading provider of complete silicon systems solutions for multi-band and multi-protocol wireless communication. Whether it is for the IEEE 802.11b standard at 2.4 GHz, or the ca 5 times faster IEEE 802.11a standard operating in the new 5 GHz band, for Systemonic the adaptation of W-LAN solutions to existing, evolving and future standards, is in almost all cases a question of software and programming.

About Systemonic
Systemonic, founded in 1999, is a wireless communications platform provider delivering complete Silicon System Solutions that power wireless data, video and voice networks across standards, across the world. Its flexible, re-configurable platform, combined with world-class RF technology acquired in November 2001 from Raytheon Company, allows customers to bring wireless communications products that support multiple standards to market faster and with industry-leading performance. November 2000, Systemonic completed second round funding of USD 30 million from an investment consortium led by Atlas Venture and APAX Europe IV, including, Krone mt, Lehman Bros. and Raytheon Commercial Ventures Inc.
