NEW CEO APPOINTMENT SIGNALS FOCUS ON NORTH AMERICAN AND EUROPEAN
MARKETS FOR SYSTEMONIC
San Jose, London, Dresden - April 30th, 2001 - Systemonic,
the broadband wireless chip company, has appointed Ruediger Stroh
as Chief Executive Officer. With over five years senior experience
in Silicon Valley, Ruediger Stroh joins from Infineon Technologies
Corporation, San Jose USA, where he was Senior Vice President and
General Manager, Network & Computer Storage.
Ruediger Stroh, the newly appointed CEO of Systemonic, commented:
"Systemonic has developed market leading wireless technology.
The goal now is to provide complete solutions to businesses operating
in the broadband wireless LAN and home networking markets. With
our initial focus on the emerging US and European 5GHz standards,
802.11a and HiperLAN2, Systemonic is now in the process of rapidly
building out its presence - and likewise its closeness to customers
- in North America and Europe through the expansion of its technical
and sales support teams."
Professor Gerhard Fettweis, co-founder and CTO of Systemonic, added:
"We have a proven approach that dramatically reduces the design
time and costs for producing wireless communication chips. We look
forward to Ruediger bringing his significant market and account
development expertise to bear on the business."
Currently employing 50 engineers, Systemonic was founded in June
1999 and has pioneered a breakthrough DSP technology, OnDSP. This
platform technology allows a chip's core functionality to be programmed
into embedded firmware as opposed to being hardwired into the silicon,
thereby providing unique advantages in terms of customisation, development
time and cost.
The company's first chip based on its OnDSP platform is HiperSonic
and is the first to take a multimode approach, meeting both the
HiperLAN 2 and 802.11a standards simultaneously.
